The Irish restaurant scene has moved on a lot in recent years according to the National Geographic. Primary produce is driving it. In fact, artisan food is flourishing in recent years. According to this year’s Good Food Ireland Business Insight survey:
- 7 out of 10 consumers are consciously purchasing local food to support the economy
- 69% rated “the use of Irish/local” as important when going out for a local meal.
This year, 350 small firms will benefit from the Food Academy Start program that aims to nurture the start up food business. Check out this link to find out more about local artisan start-ups
