Health is one of the most important aspects of life for most people. For moms, the health of the family is the most stressful aspect of life. Moms have a myriad of fears concerning their own health and their children’s health. There is also a lot of pressure on moms to keep informed, to heed ‘official’ advice and to instigate and enforce changes in lifestyle for all the family.
Apart from natural instinct, there are a number of practical and cultural factors driving this change. One is a lack of confidence in our healthcare system. Another is that many people now desire a slower, simpler life. We constantly feel like we are rushing or not in control and this new behaviour is an attempt to win back some control. Third is that on a superficial level, it is a sign of success.
